Primary responsibilities Enable the business to hit top line manufacturing targets ensuring quality products are delivered on time and to budget Use Lean methodologies to help solve problems, make decisions and implement plans Develop budget for the facility including size, fitout and staffing requirements Recruit and build the manufacturing team, including training, mentoring and management of staff Develop manufacturing processes and procedures Lead the manufacturing team Develop relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favourable prices and terms Oversee the implementation of MRP/ ERM software with the manufacturing department Maintain accurate and up to date Bill of Materials Track costs of product manufactured Implement and maintain OH&S procedures and policies across the manufacturing facility Report on manufacturing costs, quality reporting and delivery times About you Skills and experience / technical competency Degree qualifications in engineering, manufacturing or Lean is highly regarded You thrive on exceeding targets & expectations, including manufacturing delivery schedules You believe in using structured processes such as Lean or Six Sigma to streamline and improve manufacturing processes You are always thinking about how to improve manufacturing process and are driven to reassess the status quo on merit and can redesign and implement improved strategy that delivers A bonus if you have previously setup a manufacturing facility from scratch, as a second plant is on the horizon Strong leadership and people skills and ability to mentor junior staff Top-notch skills in negotiating supply agreements and building relationships with suppliers Professional presentation and approachable manner Please call Dan Kery, BEng, on 0406 537 706 to discuss this role.
